Charis

Greek for Grace or Undeserved Gifts. We all have them, learning to recognize them before it's too late, that's another story. Hopefully through this blog we can share what we have been graced with and share our stories about our "undeserved gifts."

Playing Catch Up

Okay so I am totally lame and haven't update our blog in over a month! Yikes!!!! It has been totally crazy at La Casa de Schramm!
On July 31st my sister Karen came out for a visit! She was here for 8 days and it was awesome. I hadn't seen her in close to two years! She was a huge help at home with having the new baby here and all the kiddos!
August 9th brought the return of the daycare kiddos. It's amazing how 4 weeks makes a huge difference. Tyler and "baby" John looked like big dudes!
On the 15th Todd's brother Shawn and his family came for a visit. The last time we saw them was in April of last year. It was nice to catch up and spend some time with them. While they were here we had a little family celebration for Kailee's birthday. The kids really enjoyed having their cousins around to play with. Can't wait till they move to Texas and we can spend more time with them!
Kailee's birthday party was on the 19th and we had friends over to swim and have cake and ice cream. As usual she requested her favorite- Dirt Cake with worms in it!!!
On the 22nd we packed up our car and packed in and headed north to Oklahoma for a family vacation. We stopped in Oklahoma city to visit friends that moved there from Austin in March. We went to the Oklahoma City Zoo! It was huge! Thursday we headed further north to Grand Lake O'the Cherokees and stayed there through Sunday. Poor Kailee had to spend her real birthday travelling 9 hours home in a car but she didn't seem to mind. They watched a couple movies and slept!
Yesterday was spent getting school supplies and at Meet the Teacher events. First at Chase's school-he is in a small class again with only 4 kiddos. They will have a one to one ratio in the classroom again and I am really excited to see what this year brings! Next was Mia's school. Yup-you read right-Mia starts school today! She is in the afternoon Pre-K program and today is the first day. She is soooo excited to go and of course I am a wreck. Can my babies really be growing up so quickly.
Speaking of babies-Miss Devynn is now 6 weeks old and growing very well. She is so alert now and really attending to things like her mobile and peoples faces. Of course she has smiled at everyone but me!
Well-that's it for our crazy casa. Hope you enjoy the photos!
